well that's that

It's over.

The most disappointing season, in terms of what could have been, is in the books. I've never seen anything like it. I hope I never see anything remotely like it again.

When people ask me what happened to the team this season, I usually have this long drawn out reply full of details they don't really want to digest. But now I have the Baylor game. All anybody has to do is watch the Baylor game. The 31st game of the year is a mirror image for all 31 games combined.

They started out the game with their guns blazing. They had great spacing, found back door cutters, had some high low action, everything was great and they were up 10.

In the second half Baylor made all the right adjustments and just took it to them. The Hoyas were victimized by numerous out of bounds plays for alley oops. They basically let other teams do whatever they want after calling a timeout. It's sickening. They also had their patented 4 to 5 minute scoring drought which was immediately followed up by poor shot selection. And by poor shot selection I mean really bad three point attempts. It seemed like Monroe wasn't getting the touches he needed but then when he did, he coughed it up 3 straight times. All very, very typical. All the ingredients you need for one final second half collapse.

Watching the NIT is weird. I wasn't my usual self. I was able to watch most of the game in my recliner. That never happens. I am usually on the edge of my seat. If I'm not on the edge of my seat I'm walking around the basement. Oh I almost forgot the talking part. I'm constantly talking, swearing, yelling, etc, etc during these games. Not much of that was going on last night. The NIT is basically a tournament long reminder that you failed. It's not that great.

I hate the way Jessie Sapp's career ended.

Season's over. I hope JT3 doesn't see his wife or kids for the next 2 months. He needs to recruit his ass off. He better have started his recruiting odyssey last night. I hope he didn't take the plane back to DC.

Fix it John.
