Big East Tournament Day 3

The only positive I can think of is that I saved a lot of money today. Had the Hoyas still been playing on Day 3, I would have had my fat ass at Madison Square Garden. I think the best way to do it is to drive up to MetroPark on the NJ Transit system and then take thee train into Penn Station.

Oh well. Maybe next year.

So after 2 days we are left with the top 8 seeds. After two upsets on Day 1, we saw all the favorites go through into Day 3.

Here's an updated Bracekt.

The first game of the day session brings us Louisville vs Providence. Of course I'll be rooting for the Friars but I don't see them winning. Louisville went out in their first game last year so I really think they will be ready for this one. While I find Pitno annoying, I don't complete want to throw up when I think of his team winning. Providenc has had a good year but this is where it ends. See you in the NIT boys. I like the Cardinals to advance.

Marquette vs Villanova. This is a tough match-up. The team that I hate the least would be Villanova. If I hold my nose I can root for the Wildcats. I will have to throw-up afterwards, but its doable. Buzz Williams has quickly become one of the most annoying coaches in America. I like the Wildcats to advance.

The night session is going to be freaking insane. The amount of crazy fans will be an at all time high. Syracuse, UCONN, and Pitt really bring a high volume of annoying, obnoxious, drunk fans with them for their games. All three of those teams will be playing. And if I know fans of the Mountaineers, they won't settle for being the least drunk and obnoxious. They will step up their game. I know it.

WVU vs Pitt. WVU is the team I'm rooting for right now because of Alex Ruoff. Their only hope is getting Blair in foul trouble. I'd love for Dixon's smug ass to get an early tournament loss. I like WVU. This is my only "upset" pick of the day. Of course I have a hard time calling a game between two bitter rivals an upset. They know each other. They hate each other. There aren't any surprises.

Syracuse vs UCONN. I'd be fine if the earth opened up and swallowed the entire arena during this game. I guess that's probably unlikely so if I have to root for something, I'll root for UCONN. If you think that I can root for Syracuse, even in the NCAA Tournament when you are supposed to root for your conference rivals to do well, then you are completely lost of all reality. For the love of all things Ewing, I can't root for team white trash. I just can't. I also think it's ridiculous for Sean McDonough to call their games. He openly root for his alma mater. It's embarrassing. He was doing it last night. What a joke. Another example of unbiased broadcast journalism by the WWL. Called it. I like UCONN. But only because of who they are playing.
