hardest part of the season

Bad seasons don't die easy. The fact that other teams and, more specifically, other highly ranked teams that the Hoyas previously defeated this season are still playing makes the last few weekend sting that much more than normal.

But what the hell? It's the Sweet 16 and it starts tonight!

Purdue vs UCONN: I think this is the most boring game of the Sweet 16. I can't believe Purdue is still playing basketball. The Big Eleven is the worst. Don't get me wrong as I would find it hilarious if they won, but I'm not counting on it.

Missouri vs Memphis: I remember when Missouri started to slowly creep up the AP rankings this past season. I thought to myself, "No chance they are actually good."

Well it turns out they aren't too bad. I still like Memphis and their length at all five starting positions. I think Coach Cal will have Evans for another year because he definitely can't shoot well enough to play in the League yet. Memphis is the team I have coming out of this bracket so I hope they win. I guess.

Xavier vs Pitt: Nothing would make me happier tonight than to see Pitt lose to the Musketeers. Nothing. Coach Dixon just rubs me the wrong way. He's got a lot of clever things to say for somebody that's never made it past this round. Could this be the last time I have to watch that incredible Sam Young pump fake in college? Stay tuned.

Villanova vs Duke: This is my game of the Night. My hatred runs deep for both teams. In those cases the tie always goes in favor of the conference foe. Note: I hope that Syracuse and Maryland never play each other. I won't know how to handle it. I've also got the Scottie angle. I would leave work to see him play a bunch during his Junior and Senior years in high school. It's only about 10 minutes from here. I know it's become cliche to say, but I freaking hate Duke. I don't wish Jesse a bad night rooting for his boys but I really hate the way they operate.
