NIT Gameday

It's a weird feeling.

I mean it's cool that I get to watch the Hoyas play again tonight, but it's sorta depressing at the same time. The only time you actually feel good about the NIT is when you win the NIT. This team will not win the NIT. I think it's pretty unlikely that they pick up a W tonight in Waco.

After about two months of being completely dumbfounded and frustrated by what I've seen on the hardwood, I have absolutely no idea what to expect. Nothing would surprise me. I wouldn't be the least bit taken back if some of the guys didn't even make the trip for whatever reason - injured, academics, trasnfer, who knows.

What would I like to see? I'd like to see a starting lineup of:

Wright
Sapp
Summers
Monroe
Sims/Vaughn

My reasoning: Freeman seems banged up. He missed the first St. John's game and hasn't looked good in the two games since then. I'd sit Nikita because he just doesn't have it. I think he can be a contributor - he's got 3 more seasons - but he has that whole "deer in the headlights" look to him at the moment. I understand why John plugged him in there but it didn't work.

I saw a bunch of Baylor this past weekend and they were playing like a team that wanted to compete. Georgetown doesn't give me that vibe right now. Losing tonight wouldn't be the end of the world. In fact, it won't be a big deal at all. Hey idiot don't you think Sapp would like to get back to MSG one last time? JT3 has some recruiting to do. The good news is that one of the guys he is trying to bring to the Hilltop is from Texas. Hopefully Latavious Williams will be at the game and get another chance to talk to the staff. He was at the DePaul game about 10 days ago.

Potential problem: If the Hoyas defy all of the odds and come up with a win tonight they will most likely travel to Blacksburg within the next 5 days or so. I will be really tempted to go even though it's no big deal. I have a sickness that no medicine can contain.
