Big East Tournament Day 4

Well Day 3 of the Big East Tournament turned into Day 4 of the Big East Tournament last night. I've never seen anything like it. SIX OVERTIMES!

All I wanted to do was go to bed but I couldn't. Something is wrong with me. I had to watch two of the teams that I despise the most finish their game. What's worse than watching a normal 40 minute Syracuse - UCONN game? Oh I don't know? Maybe a 70 minute Syracuse - UCONN game that ends in a victory for the Orange. That's what.

I had actually gone to Glory Days to watch the Pitt - WVU game earlier in the night. It's not often that I hang out with Elgin so I decided that it was a good idea. Plus I had been craving some GDays sliders for a few days anyway. I was glad to see WVU come away victorious. I had no idea that when I left there at about 915pm I would still be watching the 2nd part of the doubleheader past 1am.

No idea.

I had a few non - game thoughts. What did they do about beer sales? They generally stop selling beer with about 10 minutes left in the second half. The six overtimes took about an hour and a half. That means that those fans had to watch that junk for at least 2 hours without beer. That seems criminal.

The train. I'm assuming that most of the fans at the game were taking the trains home. Something tells me that there were a lot of people hanging out at Penn Station last night. And by "hanging out" I mean sleeping there. Maybe it's good that the Hoyas didn't play yesterday. Yesterday was the day I was going to be up there if they were playing. I would have definitely taken the NJ Transit in for the game. Might have sucked.

The worst part about the whole thing is that Syracuse came away on top. I mean it's definitely cool that UCONN hasn't won a BET game since 2005 but we are talking about the Orange here. They start a white trash shooting guard that likes to spend his free time beating up girls at frat parties. Nice. Just nice.

WVU has to beat them tonight. That's the only option. I can't stand Sean McDonough openly rooting for his team anymore. It's beyond human comprehension. I might drive up there tonight and challenge him to a duel later. I'm strongly considering it.

In the first game I really don't care that much. If I had to pick a team, I'd pick Villanova. I like the fact that none of the "new" teams have won the BET. Villanova is the only real team left that I can even stomach winning it. Sure I hate Villanova but they aren't some cheap Conf-USA trash.

NON BET Games. I will be the biggest Wake Forest fan on the planet tonight. Please, please, please don't let Team Suck upset you later. I can't stand them and their shitty fans. I'd rather have my appendix taken out while I'm awake then see Gary in the tournament this, or any other, year.
