No more Omar Wattad???
There has been talk for awhile now that Omar might be leaving Georgetown. My facebook investigations haven't led me to anything substantial but then I saw THIS yesterday.
I'd like to wait until I see a press release from Georgetown before I start assuming that any player is leaving/has left the program. The problem with that is the fact that last year Fox Sports came out with Vernon Macklin's transfer well before there was anything announced by the Hoyas.
Well if Omar is actually leaving the program, I'm disappointed. I never figured him to be an all Big East performer or anything, but you need guys like Omar. You need guys that play more and more each year as they grow in the program. You don't want to shuffle guys in and out. You need them to stick around.
Omar has the ability to provide energy, leadership, and a 3 point spark off the bench. Anybody else remember the way he kept the Hoyas in the game against Tennesse at the Old Spice Classic??? And those are just the things that the fans see while watching or attending the game. It's not only about the games. Lots of other things are going on behind the scenes at practice that we don't factor in when evaluating what a player "gives you".
Thanks for your two seasons Omar.
Good luck at your next stop.
